On June 28, 2024, Claiborne Parish Clerk of Court Brian Flynn officiated the swearing in ceremony of Sam Dowies. Sheriff Dowies will enter his second term as the Sheriff of the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office beginning July 1, 2024.
Sheriff Dowies is pleased to continue to provide leadership to the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office and Claiborne Parish Detention Center. Sheriff Dowies wants to publicly acknowledge each of his employees for their dedication and service to the citizens of Claiborne Parish.
Sheriff Dowies is committed to providing professional, courteous services to the citizens of Claiborne Parish. He believes that his and his employees efforts combined, make Claiborne Parish a safer more prosperous place to live.
